Heroes and Rails, Bridges and Trails A Heritage Bike Tour Through Peterborough
- Join us as we bike Peterborough's historic rail trails to discover
some fascinating places and people who have made our City great.
Explore the bridges that once carried the people and freight that
helped build our area as you enjoy a leisurely paced afternoon. If you
would like to attend, but require a bike or would like to order

July 18 & August 15 at 4pm
“West-Side Story” A Walking Tour of the Historic West-End Starting
in July, we are pleased to offer "West Side Story", our newest
historical walking tour focusing on Peterborough's west end. Come
and join us as we bring to life the sometimes difficult relationship
between the Homewood and Weller Street upper crust and the working
class of Hopkins, Elm and Murray. Visit the roots of some of
those who shaped our city and imagine a colourful cultural past as we
stroll through Peterborough's original "Little Italy". Meet at the corner of Weller and Monaghan Rd. at 4:00 PM. $10 per person.

Eerie Ashburnham Ghostwalks Fridays
in June/July/August at 9pm at the corner of Hunter Street and Driscoll
Terrace. No reservations necessary. $10 per person.

History of Music in Peterborough Tour“It's All About the Music!” - Think
you know how the music scene in Peterborough got its start? The
Historic Red Dog Tavern is pleased to sponsor the first-ever history of
music walking tour, “It's All About the Music!” to begin in June. Join
your host, Bruce Fitzpatrick, as we present a digital music experience
showcasing our vast musical talent from the Irish in 1825 to the 1990s.
Learn how Peterborough has its roots firmly planted in Irish,
classical, big-band, country, rock and roll, folk and even metal.
Discover musical venues such as the Brock Ballroom, the former
Conservatory of Music and the Legendary Red Dog. Your tour begins at
the former Paramount Theatre (soon to become The Venue) located at 286
George St. at 7pm. Tickets are $20.

Trent Valley Archives has recently completed the
GST registration process. All fees and pricing will be updated to
reflect the current GST rate. Individual memberships are now $53.00 and
family memberships are $63.60. Payment for memberships, including
renewals, can be remitted by clicking the "VISA" icon available from
each page of our website.

There
are many interesting places to go within this site, and from links
provided to other resources. We hope you enjoy this site and
find it informative.
The reading room is open to members and visitors
(for a day fee) from Tuesday to Saturday, 10a.m. to 4p.m., and other
times by appointment.
The major benefits of membership are unlimited use of the
reading room at the Fairview Heritage Centre, subscription to Heritage
Gazette of the Trent Valley™, invitations to special events,
and opportunities to help in the diverse work of the Trent Valley
Archives, of the Trent Valley Archives Ancestral Research committee, of
the Irish Heritage committee and various other heritage activities.
There are two large computer centres, 5 units
online, and five units set up for in-house research of our 200,000
regional persons database. Microfilm/fiche readers, copier,
printers. We are also a Community Access Centre, part of the
Peterborough Regional CAP Project.
