Heroes & Rails - Join your guide, as we bike Peterborough's historic rail trails to discover some fascinating places and people who have made our City great.  Explore the bridges that spanned the rivers and canals that brought prosperity to our area.  Listen to entertaining tales of the history of rail and water transport in this region as you enjoy a leisurely paced afternoon biking the rails and trails.  Tour is three hours in length.  Private tours available and school tours encouraged (program can be adjusted to a walking tour to accommodate students).

The Trent Valley Archives is pleased to announce the publication of An Historian’s Notebook: 100 Stories -- Mostly Peterborough

This is the tenth book of Elwood H. Jones, a columnist with the Peterborough Examiner, archivist at Trent Valley Archives, and Emeritus Professor of History at Trent University. It is a history of Peterborough in 100 stories. It is also about an historian at work, using the raw materials of history to see the past with fresh eyes.

A smooth-reading book with about 100 illustrations, it should appeal to people who have been reading the Examiner column, and to those who have missed the column for one reason or another. It is a perfect gift for people with Peterborough connections wherever they live.  Its novel approaches should appeal to history buffs everywhere.
